![]() ![]() I was truly impressed by the build quality of this machine. It uses real wood (not MDF), tempered glass, and authentic metal pinball parts throughout. It is a thoroughly professional build, as you'd expect from a company that has been building these pinball rigs for the last decade. Powering it up and getting all three screens configured in the pinball sim of your choice results in … magic. The actual power switch is on the bottom front right of the case. The PC "case" is just a back panel, and the power strip is the Smart Strip kind where it auto-powers everything based on the PC being powered on or off. Notice the large down-firing subwoofer mounted in the middle of the body, as well as the ventilation holes. Then lift it up and out, and you now have complete access to the interior. To remove the playfield, disconnect the power cord and the HDMI connector. The 27" playfield monitor is mounted using a clever rod assembly to the standard VESA mount on the back, so we can easily rotate it up to work on the inside as needed. On the right front side, the digital plunger and right buttons. On the left front side, the audio amplifier and left buttons. All of which shows up as a standard game controller in Windows. This Digital Plunger Kit connects the 8 buttons (2 on each side, 3 on the front, 1 on the bottom) and includes an analog tilt sensor and analog plunger sensor. The most uniquely pinball item in the case is right at the front. Then remove the metal lockdown bar and slide the tempered glass out. Open the front coin door and detach the two internal nuts for the front bolts, which are finger tight. Most of the magic is in those screens, and whether the pinball sim in question allows you to arrange the three screens in its advanced settings, usually by enabling a "cabinet" mode. Plus you can emulate every pinball machine, ever! The Virtuapin Mini is a custom $3k build centered around three screens: The mini is much smaller than a normal pinball machine, so it's easier to move around, takes up less space, and is less expensive. But in my defense, it is a minor extravagance relative to a real pinball machine. That recently culminated in me buying a Virtuapin Mini. I've had something of an obsession with digital pinball for years now. ![]() ![]() ![]() In general, I think that a buffer of 512 should be comfortable enough to work with between 44.1 and 48 kHz if using multiple synths, mixing or mastering. So the higher your sampling rate, the more you will have to increase the buffer or your processing power (CPU and audio drivers). So the higher the sampling rate, the less time the buffer will have to process whilst at a fixed size (as the buffer is measured in samples). ![]() This way, you have much less delay/latency whilst you record and more processing power whilst you mix.Īnother point to note is that your buffer size interacts with your sampling rate. In general, lower buffers are used whilst recording live audio or MIDI and higher buffer settings are used whilst doing other tasks, such as mixing. This will tax the system more as the lower the buffer, the closer to realtime processing you get. Though I'll add some information based on what you told me, as you seem keen to learn. Whilst many people starting out like to find er. ![]() ![]() That said, the film represents the sort of lightweight offering that possessed scant theatrical prospects even before Covid, making the advent of streaming both a godsend for getting such movies made and a self-fulfilling prophecy in terms of their perceived commercial limitations. “No Sudden Move” fares better with the quirky, unpredictable nature of the characters, the impeccable period touches – from the overall look to the music – and disarmingly witty bits of dialogue, such as one tough guy snarling, “You’re not smart enough to know how not smart you are.” There’s also a terrific performance by Amy Seimetz in what could easily have been a throwaway role. At the same time, that plot – after an extremely good, tension-filled start – grows a little too convoluted and border-line confusing down the stretch, especially since it’s structurally an old Hitchcock-ian MacGuffin to set the action in motion. Solomon has crafted a pretty clever device to undergird the story, one that involves the 1950s auto industry, which brings logic to the Detroit setting. Working from a script by Ed Solomon (of “Bill & Ted” and “Men in Black” renown), Soderbergh – fresh off his Oscar producing stint – enlists a strong array of supporting players, among them Jon Hamm as a fed looking into what’s happening and Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser and Bill Duke as underworld figures who cross the central pair’s path. The plan not surprisingly goes awry, unleashing a series of twists, crosses and double-crosses, starting with the fact that Goynes and Russo aren’t entirely sure who’s behind the whole scheme, having only been told, not very convincingly, that “some outfit out of Illinois wants to expand to Detroit.”īurying his usual charm under a cool exterior and gruff, whispered voice, Cheadle establishes Curt as a guy who it’s probably wise not to underestimate, while Ronald is a more loquacious fellow with bad habits, among them seducing the wrong women. Owing a debt to nostalgia-dipped movies like “Devil in a Blue Dress” and the Coen brothers (the film stylistically resembling the most recent season of “Fargo”), the action unfolds in 1954 Detroit, where Cheadle’s Curt Goynes and Del Toro’s Ronald Russo are thrown together to handle what should be a pretty basic job: holding a family hostage long enough to compel the patriarch (David Harbour) to hand over some precious documents. The film premieres on HBO Max, the director’s second title for the streaming service in seven months, following “Let Them All Talk.” I think too the professional anamorphic taking lenses from Kowa must have been completely different things.Steven Soderbergh continues his prolific directing streak with “No Sudden Move,” a 1950s crime thriller that’s an obvious ode to the movies of that era and a nifty showcase for its sizable cast, topped by Don Cheadle and Benicio del Toro. I once encountered the same lens also as part of a cheaper 35mm film projection combination: a quick google shows this must have been the "Sankor Anamo-Prime". They simply look too exactly the same □Ī YT video shows they come with either blueish or yellowish coating, and that makes a difference for sure in lens flare color. On YT there are a few videos that compare the 8Z and the 16H, differences in sharpness are found, but I still guess this has to do with the calibration of the individual lenses instead of being the result of a different design. Later, when I got into film projection professionally, I always felt that this was just the 16H 16mm projection anamorphic with a different name on it to sell it to the super8 filmmaker. It was fun, but results were always a bit soft in my experience. something I had to have when a Dutch dealer in the early 1990's made it available. The synchro-lens is quite rare but they pop up from time to time in japan. Also quite a performer too, especially for such a tiny piece of glass. ![]() ![]() I owned the adapter-style for a time.easily the smallest 2x adapter in existence. ![]() Here's the synchro-focus lens mounted on a Super8 Kowa Kallo: ![]() Kowa made a 2x anamorphic designed for use on super 8 cameras both an adapter-style intended to be attached in front of primes, and also an actual synchro-focus lens (13mm f1.9). The Cine Lens Manual doesn’t list any early films using the Prominars, but it does mention that in the 90s Clairmont had a set that was used in conjunction with other anamorphics on various films, including Body Snatchers (1993), Scream (1996) and Blade (1998). I assume that would be using a Kowa projection lens mounted in front of the Super 8 zoom? That’s somewhat different to the Kowa Prominar lines of complete, single-focus anamorphics the OP is talking about, though you are in good company: according to The Cine Lens Manual some of Kurosawa’s anamorphic films (The Hidden Fortress, Yojimbo) were shot in an early version of TohoScope which utilised a front anamorphic adapter made by Kowa. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hydrocodone Schedule and Drug ClassĪccording to DEA classification, hydrocodone schedule is II, indicating a high risk of physical and psychological dependence and addiction.Ĭombination opioid analgesic products, for example, hydrocodone homatropine syrup, are some of the most prescribed medicines in the United States. Misuse of these cough syrups can lead to addiction because of their narcotic content. The cough syrup containing an opioid is a centrally-acting medicine that suppresses the cough reflex. Hydrocodone for cough consists of combination products that include the narcotic plus an anticholinergic like homatropine or an antihistamine like chlorpheniramine. The medicine is only prescribed for intractable pain that cannot be managed with safer medicines with a lower risk of addiction. The opioid is available with analgesics for pain relief. The two main hydrocodone uses are to alleviate pain and suppress the cough. In addition, there are many other dangerous interactions, which is why the medicine should only be taken by prescription and under supervision by a physician. Misuse of both types of formulations can lead to addiction.ĭoctors advise against the use of alcohol and hydrocodone together because this can result in fatal respiratory depression. They provide prolonged pain relief of up to 12 hours. Extended-release pure hydrocodone formulations, such as Zohydro ER and Hysingla ER, are designed for a gradual release of the substance into the body. These immediate-release formulations provide quick pain relief and must be taken every 4-6 hours for continued pain relief. These medications present the drug’s common combination with acetaminophen. In addition to its generic form, the medication is available under different brand names, such as Vicodin, Lortab, and Norco. Hydrocodone is a drug prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain or to suppress the cough. People taking the medication must be aware of the information about its health risks and take caution when using this narcotic analgesic. According to the hydrocodone schedule, it has a high potential for abuse and addiction. This potent medication is used when other pain medicines have been unsuccessful in alleviating symptoms. Hydrocodone is the most frequently prescribed opioid pain reliever in the United States. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can read how we made our picks and tested them if you’d like more detail on what we were looking for or why your favorite didn’t make this list. ![]() So we offer you an array of great notebooks from $2 to $20: softcover notebooks with silky-smooth paper and more grippy, “toothier” paper a hardcover notebook with all the bells and whistles a great Moleskine alternative a spiral-bound notebook suitable for students reporter-style notebooks in small and traditional sizes a budget-friendly pocket-size notebook and a stylish, rugged pocket notebook a steno-style spiral notebook that works on anyone’s desk and a disc-bound notebook with pages you can rearrange.
